European far right congratulates Meloni on his victory

Date:

From France’s Eric Zemmour and Marine Le Pen to the Polish Prime Minister, via Vox, the main referents of the far right in the Old Continent are delighted with the results of the Italian polls

The European far right celebrated the victory of the Brothers of Italy in the Italian elections on Sunday. The leader of the formation, Giorgia Meloni, has received congratulations from the main political parties and leaders of the continent, from Poland’s PiS to Vox in Spain.

France

Eric Zemmour, leader of Reconquête (Reconquest), was one of the most effusive in congratulating the future Italian Prime Minister. “Congratulations to Giorgia Meloni and the Italian people! How can we not see this victory as proof that it is possible to come to power?”, he wrote on social networks, where he also published a press release. In the text he has claimed the union of rights as a formula for coming to power. From Sweden to Italy, in recent weeks we have witnessed the second victorious union of the right in Europe, whose cement is the question of identity,” said Zemmour, who had a poor result in the French presidential election and was well outdone by Marine LePen.

Precisely Le Pen has celebrated that “the Italian people have decided to take their destiny into their own hands by electing a patriotic and sovereign government”. The National Regrouping leader also congratulated her MEP group mate Matteo Salvini, in coalition with Meloni and Silvio Berlusconi, despite the setback he suffered in the polls. “Bravo to Giorgia Meloni and Matteo Salvini for resisting the threats of an anti-democratic and arrogant European Union by achieving this great victory!” he celebrated.

Spain

Vox leader Santiago Abascal has assured Meloni “has shown the way for a proud, free Europe and sovereign nations, able to work together for the security and prosperity of all.” Abascal has accompanied his publication on social networks with a series of photos with the future Italian Prime Minister.

Hungary

In Hungary, the President’s political adviser Viktor Orbán has claimed victory for the Brothers of Italy. “In these difficult times, we need friends more than ever who share a common vision and approach to Europe’s challenges.”

Poland

Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, has been much more concise than his colleagues, publishing a simple “Congratulations Giorgia Meloni”.

Germany

From Germany, AfD vice president BEatrix von Storch congratulated “the entire center-right alliance”. “Together with our friends Salvini we and Giorgia Meloni we can build a strong right-wing government. Sweden in the north, Italy in the south: left-wing governments are obsolete.
