A man deliberately hit his wife (47) with a car in the municipality of Saarwellingen in Saarland, causing serious injuries. Neighbors say the 49-year-old ran towards the woman on purpose – and then rolled over her for the second time.
“At the moment we have to assume that the man deliberately ran over the woman several times,” the spokesperson for the Situation Center said Monday evening. After the crime, the 49-year-old man initially fled in his car, but was later arrested near the station.
The 47-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries on Sunday night. Various media speak of “acute danger to life”. The suspect will be arraigned on Monday before the investigating judge. Agents from the Department of Crimes Against Life took over the case. Investigated for attempted manslaughter.
