4 hours of downtime – after Railjet breakdown for passengers

Date:

Panic and three injured – that was the result of a technical failure at ÖBB. Shortly after Linz, a Railjet came to a stop. The passengers had to last four hours.

As reported, 800 passengers had to wait four hours in a train plane en route from Zurich to Vienna airport. Shortly after leaving Linz, the train broke down. “The culprit was a faulty shift point in the engine, which we then had to switch off,” explains ÖBB press spokesman Klaus Baumgartner.

Transfer to another train
The affected passengers had to wait in the train before transferring to another train. The excitement was too much for three people and they had to go to the hospital. And now everyone is entitled to compensation. You can reclaim all or part of the ticket price (depending on the delay).

request compensation
Those who had to go to the airport and missed their flight are also entitled to a refund under certain circumstances. On the train itself, passengers received a voucher of 25 euros and a free drink. Compensation information: oebb.at
