The prosecutor’s office has now charged a 15-year-old student from Salzburg with the crimes of the “terrorist organization” and “instructions for committing a terrorist crime”.
The native Chechen is accused of participating in the Islamic State (IS). Accordingly, he shared IS propaganda on various internet platforms. The videos consisted of execution scenes and various combat operations and were intended to mobilize more members for an armed religious war. He is also said to have spread Salafist-jihadist praises and battle songs.
In addition, the young person is said to have shared a video explaining the production of cluster bombs. Instructions for building a bomb were also found on his cell phone. The student is said to have openly toyed with the idea of being trained as a religious fighter for the terrorist militia. If convicted, the young person faces up to five years in prison. The charges have not yet become final.
