Terrible case of animal cruelty in Oberbierbaum in the Lower Austrian district of Tulln! There, strangers broke into a horse pasture, seized a two-meter iron bar and wildly beat the stallion “Don Camillo”.
A second four-legged friend managed to escape the attacks. After their reprehensible act, the attackers locked the badly injured animal in the goat shed, where the owner found it the next day with several bleeding welts on its body. The horse required veterinary care, but will recover.
So far no indications for perpetrators
However, it is completely unknown who was able to torment the stallion like this. A neighbor said nothing suspicious happened. The owner’s dogs hadn’t hit either.
Police are also investigating property damage as several fence posts supporting the barn door had broken down.
