Fish death in the Mühlbach: The fire brigade in Ebenfurth in the Wiener Neustadt district was alerted for an animal rescue operation. Dozens of fish were in danger of perishing. Due to a “flow reversal”, too little residual water remained in the stream. Emergency services had to act quickly and rescue the animals from the stream. Because many of the animals had already died.
More than 80 trout were fished out of the nearly 500 meter long section of the stream within three hours. After a bath in water with a high oxygen content, the animals were released back into the Fischa behind the fire station.
