Throw it in the garbage and light it – in the Mühlviertel (Upper Austria), illegal waste incineration threatened to spread to a forest. The fire brigade prevented this at the last minute and the perpetrator risks a fine of several thousand euros.
It can cost up to 8,400 euros to just set your waste on fire. Anyone subsequently setting fire to hazardous substances must take into account a maximum of EUR 41,200, which can be imposed by the government.
In any case, a previously unknown person on a field path in the immediate vicinity of a forest in Schenkenfelden, more precisely in Vorderkönigsschlag, had burned waste in a can. When a witness drove by here, the polluter gave up and the witness lost sight of him in the dark.
The fire brigade was able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent the flames from spreading to the forest. Police searched the area for the detonator, but he was able to hide.
