British Prime Minister Liz Truss fired the Chancellor of the Exchequer today. Kwasi Kwarteng, for his controversial tax plan. He is considered the architect of a controversial tax reform plan that has been questioned by the markets and even by members of the Conservative Party, who are now even considering increasing pressure on the head of government.

Kwarteng is the second-shortest-serving economy minister, taking office on September 7, following Truss’s arrival at Downing Street. Jeremy Hunt, among others former Minister of Health and Foreign Affairs, will be the new Minister of Economy.

The executive has tabled tax cuts worth £45,000m that have not convinced the financial or political environment, nor some members of the Conservative Party, and which, in terms of currency, have put the pound against the ropes. Truss was forced to withdraw within days the proposal to lower the income tax for large fortunes from 45 to 40%.

Some ‘tories’ are already asking for the head of the prime minister. In any case, the head of government ruled out for the House of Representatives this week that she plans to bring the elections forward.
