Unbelievable: Saturday evening in Bad Blumau, Styria, a motorist overtook a cyclist so close that the 63-year-old was thrown into a ditch and seriously injured. But the driver just drove on. Police are now asking for information.
The cyclist was driving on the L401 from Bierbaum towards Bad Waltersdorf around 8.40 pm when a car suddenly overtook him. Apparently so close that the cyclist was hit by the right wing mirror and was thrown into the ditch.
His journey continued
The driver continued his journey undaunted. The man from Hartberg-Fürstenfeld was seriously injured in the accident and brought to the LKH Hartberg, but has since been able to leave it. Police are now asking for information.
The car is probably a white vehicle, possibly a Golf station wagon. The impact caused the car to lose its side mirror. Information can also be reported anonymously, either directly to the Fürstenfeld Police Station or by telephone on 059133/6220.
