This accident could have been much worse. A motorcyclist (60) lost control of the steering wheel in a bend on the Defereggental provincial road in Tyrol on Sunday and fell. He was flown to the hospital.
Shortly before 8.30 am, the German was on his bike on the L25 towards Staller Sattel when he claimed to brake too hard with the front brake in a slight right bend. The motorcycle fell on the dew-covered road, police said.
Passers-by gave first aid
As the 60-year-old came to a stop on the left shoulder of the road, his motorcycle fell about 20 meters into the ditch. Passers-by immediately rushed to the rescue and set the rescue chain in motion. After first aid at the accident site, the motorcyclist was taken to hospital in Lienz by an emergency helicopter.
