Terrible scenes on Thursday morning in Pflach (Reutte district) in Tyrol! A freight train hit a bus at a level crossing. According to initial information, the accident involved three people, three of whom were seriously injured.

The bus entered the level crossing shortly after 7 a.m. He was hit by a passing freight train on its way to Vils. According to information from the Tyrol control center, five people may have been involved in the incident, three of whom were seriously injured. They have already been taken to hospital by ambulance. Several fire and rescue services were on site.

Cause still unclear
It is not yet clear how the incident could have happened and what the current status of the investigation is. According to ÖBB spokesman Christoph Gasser-Mair, the level crossing is signposted with a Saint Andrew’s cross.
