Free promotion – register from Monday for flu vaccination appointments in Vienna

After the Ministry of Health warned on Saturday of the first cases of flu in Austria and recommended an early vaccination against the flu, the city of Vienna will start registering for its flu vaccination campaign in the municipal vaccination centers on Monday. The vaccination itself is free, the start of the vaccination is then scheduled for November 2, 2022.

About half of the 400,000 vaccine doses are vaccinated in the municipal vaccination centers or the vaccination centers of the ÖGK, the other half in the private sector. The city has budgeted a total of 9.9 million euros for the free campaign, according to a city broadcast on Sunday.

All persons from the age of 7 months who live, study or work in Vienna, regardless of their actual place of residence, can benefit from the free flu vaccination in Vienna. The campaign runs from November 2022 to January 2023.

Double vaccination possible
Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) warned: “Especially this year, the experts expect a strong flu wave.” City Council for Public Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) pointed out that there was again the possibility “of both against Get vaccinated against both flu and Covid-19. Take advantage of this offer so that we can get through this winter safely”.

Vaccination appointments can be booked online via impfservice.wien or Monday 1450 from 12 noon.
