Deadly incident Tuesday evening in Schwaz, Tyrol: two young people were seriously injured when a firework exploded. After several unsuccessful attempts to ignite the fireworks, the guys themselves made a fuse out of handkerchiefs – then the accident happened.
At around 9:30 p.m., four young people between the ages of 14 and 16 tried to set off fireworks that they had previously received from a stranger. But the fireworks wouldn’t explode at first – so the boys came up with the idea of making their own fuse out of paper handkerchiefs.
Injuries to the face and hands
And that had fatal consequences: the fireworks suddenly exploded. Two of the four youths suffered serious injuries to their faces and hands. After first aid, they were taken by the rescue team, accompanied by an emergency doctor, to the emergency room of the Innsbruck clinic or to the district hospital in Schwaz.
The other two youths were not injured. Appropriate notifications will be made after completing the surveys.
