At about 2.30 pm, the 80-year-old from the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district went for a bike ride with four other cyclists. The cyclists were in the Graschnitzgraben, coming from the Jageralm on a forest road. The 80-year-old may have hit a rock and fell as a result. The man’s friends immediately stopped and began resuscitating the motionless 80-year-old.
The mountain rescue services Bruck an der Mur and Kapfenberg and the crew of the rescue helicopter Christophorus 17 took over the resuscitation. However, they had to stop the resuscitation measures without success. The man died at the scene of the accident.
