“Suspicious things” – Ukraine strengthens troops on border with Belarus

Date:

After suspicious observations and increasing drone attacks, the Ukrainian army has reinforced its forces on the border with Belarus. This was announced by the Ukrainian General Staff on Thursday. While there are currently no signs of an attack from Belarus, Ukraine’s lead army officer Oleksiy Hromov says, there are threats.

Suspicious activities were observed at the Belarusian military airport Ziabrivka. “We are responding to this, we have already expanded our forces in the north,” Hromow said. As Ukraine’s news agency Ukrinform reported on Thursday, there have already been ten drone strikes from Belarusian territory in the past week.

Drone instructors spotted from Iran
The Jerusalem Post reported on October 24 that Iranian drone instructors had been spotted in Belarus. They are members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Russian National Guard and FSB officers in the Gomel region. From there, drone strikes would be launched on Kiev and northern and western Ukraine. Russia also has full control over the Baranavichy and Lida airports, from which Ukraine is fired upon.

According to the daily situation report of the Ukrainian armed forces on Thursday morning, Russian troops in the east near Bakhmut and Avdiivka are still on the offensive. However, renewed attempts to advance could be repulsed on Wednesday. Artillery shelling also took place in the suburbs of Zaporizhzhya and in the industrial zone of Kramatorsk. However, there were no deaths or injuries.

Air raid siren activated four times in Kiev
Air-raid sirens went off four times in the capital Kiev on Wednesday. Ukraine’s presidential office said five civilians were killed and 11 others injured on Wednesday. Most of them in the Donetsk region. One of the dead and seven of the injured have been traced to a landmine in the Kharkiv region.

In the south, the Russian army launched two dozen Iranian Shahed-136 combat drones (pictured above) two hours before midnight, shooting down 19 of them. Most over the Odessa region, where a Su-25 fighter jet was shot down. A Ka-52 attack helicopter was also destroyed in the Kherson area when it fired on a Ukrainian position, Ukraine said.
