Once again, a blatant case of benefit fraud was uncovered in Tyrol: a 29-year-old Turk is said to have wrongfully collected benefits from the state for years. Now the suspect has been unmasked – but he is silent.
The Turk living in the Tyrolean Oberland is suspected between March 2020 and May 2022 have obtained unemployment benefits or emergency assistance through fraud during a total of eight reference periods. According to the police, the suspect hadhas demonstrably received multiple incomes that were above the marginal income threshold and various reporting obligations under the WW have not been complied with.” Damage in this case: more than 10,000 euros!
With false identities for even more money
But that’s not all: the 29-year-old is also accused of wrongly withdrawing a four-digit euro amount from a relief fund between March 2020 and June of the previous year by providing false identities.
However, the alleged fraudster is making it far from easy for investigators and has so far refused to make a statement. Appropriate notifications will be made after completing the surveys.
