A 17-year-old drove his father’s car too fast into a bend in Gröbming (Styria) on Tuesday night in Gröbming (Styria). The Ennstaler ran off the road with the vehicle, the car overturned and ended up in a stream bed. Fortunately, a 16-year-old passenger suffered only minor injuries.
Shortly before 11 p.m., a 17-year-old from the Liezen district was driving his father’s car on the L725 from Ramsau in the direction of Weißenbach. The Ennstaler traveled with a 15 and a 16 year old. Due to an increased speed, the driver suddenly ended up on the verge of the road in a left turn.

The vehicle then skidded over a gravel sheeting before the car overturned on the creek bank and came to rest on its wheels in the adjacent creek bed. The 16-year-old suffered minor injuries. The driver and 15-year-old passenger escaped unhurt.
The fire brigades of Weißenbach, Haus, Schladming and Ramsau are deploying 60 people. The vehicle could not be recovered due to the difficult terrain. The wreckage of the accident was too far from the road. A towage company has been engaged for the salvage, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
