Wallner Goes – Vice Chancellor Kogler Gets New Private Secretary

Date:

Vice-chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) will have a new chief of cabinet after Easter. Stefan Wallner resigns at his own request and now wants to dedicate himself to helping Ukraine. Georg Günsberg, who was previously responsible for strategic projects in Kogler’s cabinet, will be his successor.

Wallner was brought into Kogler’s cabinet in May 2020. During that time he replaced Dieter Brosz. At the time, he asked the former secretary general of Caritas, “although he left politics years ago, to come back on board to support and direct the participation of the Green government,” Kogler reflected on Tuesday, saying in a broadcast on Tuesday. : “I wish Stefan all the best for his return to the NGO field that has shaped him and which he helped shape over many years.”

Günsberg negotiated eco-social tax reform
Günsberg already has experience at the Kogler Ministry of Art, Culture, Civil Service and Sport. He was “leading in the design and negotiation of many important projects, such as the eco-social tax reform”. Before joining the cabinet in September 2020, Günsberg spent 13 years as a freelance policy and strategy advisor with a focus on climate and energy policy.
