The distribution of the climate bonus, which is intended to help people, especially as energy costs have risen, has been accompanied by many accidents. Some of them have still not been paid out, others received the climate bonus in the form of a voucher despite a valid FinanzOnline account. Swiss Post sent 1.3 million of these Sodexo vouchers. As has become known by now, almost 100,000 people did not collect their climate bonus – millions of euros were left behind.
Exactly 97,709 people did not go to the post office to collect their bonus, the “Standard” reports. Adults received 500 euros in the largest payout campaign in the Second Republic, children half. The value of the left behind vouchers can therefore amount to 48 million euros.
Post processes returns
Now the post takes care of the return of the Sodexo vouchers. “This also includes checking the individual shipments, registering the envelopes, sealing the voucher boxes and returning them to Sodexo. All steps are carried out and documented under strict security measures,” explains a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Climate Protection.
Those who use their voucher for health reasons could not get their money transferred now. The remaining vouchers will be returned to Sodexo.
Sodexo profits double
The company is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the campaign. On the one hand, it received three million euros from the Ministry of Climate Protection as part of the order, on the other hand, the company also collects the billing of the vouchers. Companies that accept payments with Sodexo vouchers must pay the company a three percent administration fee for each voucher.
