Show price list – Russian army motivates recruits with bounties

Date:

The Russian army is trying to motivate recruits with kill bonuses and bounties in the war against Ukraine. The army channel Zvezda published a price list on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to this, the shooting down of a Ukrainian plane is compensated with the equivalent of 5,000 euros, a helicopter with just over 3,200 euros and a main battle tank with no less than 1,600 euros. “In addition, payments are possible to soldiers who excelled in destroying fighters and performing other tasks – up to 100,000 rubles” (about 1,600 euros), they say.

800 euros for shooting down drones
The bonuses for shooting down drones, armored cars, artillery pieces and anti-aircraft systems are more modest. Here, the Moscow military leadership promises the recruits the equivalent of 800 euros.

80,000 euros for relatives of the victims
The Russian leadership has also promised the soldiers high salaries and financial security in case of injury or death – in this case for the next of kin. The minimum gross monthly salary is then 3100 euros. The injured receive a severance payment of about 50,000 euros, and in the event of death, Moscow pays the next of kin about 80,000 euros. However, in recent weeks and months, numerous complaints have surfaced in social networks and media that promised payments have not been made.
