The pensioner from Pöllau near Gleisdorf was busy cutting trees on his property in the morning. For this he stood on an aluminum ladder.
Fallen three meters deep
Around noon there was a fatal accident: the 76-year-old fell about three meters from the ladder to the ground. He was so badly injured in the head and torso area that he probably died instantly. The woman found her husband lying motionless on the ground and called the emergency services.
Immediately initiated resuscitation attempts by emergency medical personnel were unsuccessful. Debts of third parties could not be charged. The public prosecutor’s office in Graz has released the body for burial.
