The regulations for electricity, gas and district heating from Wien Energie are currently entering many Viennese households. This is also the case with Nebos S. The widower has lived alone in an apartment of 45 square meters since the death of his wife, whom he had to take care of because of her paralysis.
Quadruple
The shock was all the greater when he received the annual statement plus the need for district heating and hot water at the beginning of the week. Because instead of having to pay 163 euros every two months as in previous years, it is now 643 (!) euros. That is an increase of almost 500 euros or four times as much. “I can’t explain it,” reports S. “I only turned on one radiator at a time.”

The “Krone” asked Wien Energie: “Unfortunately, this requirement is correct. The customer has a very high consumption and an additional huge increase in the past year,” said a spokeswoman for the company.
Strange: Comparable apartments have almost 21 divisions in heating consumption, p. has 68. Hot water consumption has also tripled. Wien Energie also finds this unusual. The energy supplier has therefore scheduled an inspection and is obtaining further information from the meter reading company.
