Early Thursday evening there was a serious accident on Katschberg-Straße (B99) in Salzburg: in the Breitlahngalerie around 5 p.m., a Romanian (51) drove his car into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with an oncoming van.
The driver of the van, an Austrian (69), the 51-year-old and his Romanian passenger were injured. One of the men suffered serious injuries – the three were taken to hospitals in Schwarzach and Tamsweg.
Extensive cleanup work
During the extensive clean-up work, the gallery had to be closed from 5:10 pm to 8:15 pm. A local redirect has been set up. “The Obertauern fire truck was deployed with 18 men and three vehicles,” reports local fire chief Gerhard Mitsche.
The badly damaged accident cars had to be salvaged and removed. The alcohol tests performed were negative.
