A 70-year-old motorist died on Friday evening in a traffic accident in the Upper Austrian capital of Linz. According to the police, the local resident drove towards the city center on Freistädter Straße around 7 p.m.
As a result, he ended up on the opposite lane at house number 432 and collided with an oncoming bus. He suffered such serious injuries in the collision that he later died in hospital.

According to a Saturday morning police broadcast, the car spun in the accident and came to rest on the bus about 20 meters behind the point of impact. The car was so badly damaged that the 70-year-old had to be freed by the professional fire brigade with rescue scissors. Four people, including the bus driver, suffered minor injuries on the bus.
