In the liberated areas around Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk, Ukrainian authorities are finding increasing evidence of atrocities committed by the former Russian occupiers. More than 700 bodies have been discovered in these areas in the past two months, Attorney General Andriy Kostin said on state television on Saturday night.
About 90 percent of the cases reportedly involved civilians. In addition, about 20 places were discovered where civilians were interrogated and held captive, he said. “We found places where they killed peaceful civilians in almost every village in the Kharkiv region,” Kostin said. Help restore destroyed infrastructure
Estonia is helping Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia, to repair its war-damaged transport infrastructure. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tallinn, the Baltic EU and NATO country will hand over 27 local public transport buses to Kiev. The vehicles will be delivered in November and December, the ministry announced on Saturday evening. Estonia had sent 17 used buses to Ukraine earlier in the summer.
On a private initiative, the Estonian branch of the Lions Club also bought 13 Stromgeneration with donations. They will be sent to schools and children’s institutions working in emergency shelters in Ukraine in the coming days, a representative for the nonprofit said.
