Italy is phasing out the measures in place since spring to lower fuel prices. That means that petrol will become more expensive from December 1, the new government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni decided on Tuesday evening.
From the beginning of December, the price for petrol and diesel will be reduced from 0.25 euros per liter to 0.15 euros and for LPG from 0.085 euros per kilo to 0.051 euros.
No impact on transport companies
This decision has no consequences for carriers, who can count on other regulations. The reduction in fuel prices was decided together with the 2023 draft budget.
The budget law, which must be adopted by parliament before the end of the year, provides for measures amounting to 35 billion euros. They are intended, among other things, to reduce inflation and high energy costs for households and businesses.
