Three meters deep – quad crashes into construction pit: man (74) seriously injured

Fatal and curious accident in St. Ulrich am Pillersee in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel on Friday! A German (74) got lost with his quad. The trip ended with a fall into a three meter deep construction pit. A helicopter also had to be requested for the rescue operation.

The serious accident happened just before 2 p.m. The 74-year-old drove his quad west on Steinbergstrasse. “On a construction site, for unknown reasons, he drove between an excavator and a construction fence,” said the management.

As a result, the driver fell into a pit about three meters deep. After the first aid on site, the German was flown by helicopter with serious injuries to the St. Johann hospital. The quad had to be recovered with a construction crane.
