A total of 1,477 people have been called up to begin the first joint selection and training process launched by the Basque Police and Emergency Academy to join the fire prevention and extinguishing services of the provincial councils of Álava and Gipuzkoa.
The exams will be held this Saturday at the exhibition grounds Ficoba of Irun. 1,663 people registered for this selection process, of which 1,477 can take the first tests, after 186 people were excluded from the process because they did not meet the basic requirements of the call.
Of those 1477 people, 1,379 are male (93.36%) and 98 female (6.64%). The vast majority are from Euskadi (Araba 266, Bizkaia 675 and Gipuzkoa 349), but there are also people who will be examined from other areas.
For example, in the Provincial Council of alava There are 46 positions offered in the “Special Administration Group, Special Services Subgroup, Fire Fighting Service Class, integrated into Professional Classification Group C, Subgroup C2”, corresponding to the OPEs of the years 2020 and 2022.
In the Provincial States of Guipuzkoa There are 68 positions offered in the “Special Administration Scale, Special Services Subscale, Fire Fighting Service Class, integrated into Classification Group C, Subgroup C2”, corresponding to the OPEs of the years 2019, 2020 and 2021.
The selection process will be conducted through the opposition system with knowledge, psychotechnical and physical tests. Those who pass these tests receive a compulsory study period, which is also developed in the Academy itself according to the “Study Plan” designed for this purpose and which is also subject to evaluation.
Once this stage of the process has been completed, the applicants will undertake an internship period in the appropriate centers or units for their comprehensive training, during which their professional effectiveness linked to the performance of duties inherent in the performance of the position will be evaluated.
People who pass this OPE, but do not get a place, are included in the temporary job bank of the Basque Academy of Police and Emergency Situations to cover vacancies and replacements in the Basque fire prevention and extinguishing services of the institutions that are part of the call.
