Life-threatening incident after an early morning local lap in the Burgenland district of Oberwart: Young parents from Lower Austria were on their way home when the woman jumped out of the car in the middle of a village at almost 50 km/h and hit the road – seriously injured! The man behind the wheel had more than 1.5 promille in his blood.
A 29-year-old man and his partner (27) from the Wiener Neustadt district (Lower Austria) were traveling in Burgenland on Sunday night. After 6 a.m., a daughter’s parents were on their way home.
The woman lay motionless in the street
Dramatic scenes were set in the quiet village of Tauchen in the Oberwart district with 160 inhabitants. At about the same height as the city office, the woman apparently yanked open the side door and jumped out into the street. The young mother hit the asphalt with full force and lay motionless on the road.
A nurse on her way to work rushed to the unconscious woman and administered first aid. The rescue chain worked very professionally. Emergency workers, emergency doctor, rescue service and police were quickly on the scene. The 27-year-old patient was taken to hospital with serious head injuries.
Cause of accident unclear
It is still unclear how the accident could have happened. It is also completely unclear whether a dispute was the reason for this. One thing is certain, the man behind the wheel of the Mercedes had significantly more than 1.5 promille in his blood.
As the reconstructions showed, his partner was probably in the back seat and jumped out of the car on the left. “The more detailed background must be clarified in a court hearing,” the emergency services said.
