For reasons that are still unclear, a truck left the road on the A2 on Monday evening and ended up in the ditch in the vicinity of Arnoldstein.
The accident happened on Monday evening around 8 p.m. on the southern highway towards Vienna. Shortly after the Südrast Dreiländereck, a lorry driver went off the road near Arnoldstein and fell into the ditch.
From one mission to another
“We were just finishing the firefighting in the Arnoldstein warehouse when we were already called for the next operation. At first we had to assume that the steering wheel was jammed, because the truck was loaded with spread plates,” explains Michel Miggitsch from the Arnoldstein volunteer fire brigade.
Fortunately, the driver was able to free himself from his cab unharmed. “Only the shock is still a little deep,” says Miggitsch.
