After drone strikes – Putin: Defend Russia by “all means”.

Date:

After the explosions at Russian military bases, President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that Russia will defend its interests with all available means. Only on Tuesday, Putin held a conference with his National Security Council on how to deal with the previous attacks on Russian military airports.

At the annual meeting of the Russian Human Rights Council, Putin complained in a speech broadcast on Russian television that Western human rights organizations see Russia as “a second-class country that has no right to exist”.

Putin: No further summons
The answer is a consistent struggle for national interests. Peaceful means will also be used. “But if nothing else remains, we will defend ourselves with all the means at our disposal,” he added. But there is currently no point in mobilizing more soldiers, Putin added, referring to the 300,000 reservists who had already been called up in September and October.

150,000 of them are said to be currently deployed in Ukraine. On February 24, Russian troops invaded neighboring Ukraine. Putin spoke again of a “special operation” and said it could take a long time.

NATO: Kremlin plans to redeploy troops over winter
NATO also concluded on Wednesday that the Russian offensive war is unlikely to end soon. “Russia is trying to freeze this war, at least for a short time (…) and then launch a major offensive in the spring,” Alliance secretary general Jens Stoltenberg said Wednesday at an event hosted by the “Financial Times” in Brussels. According to NATO information, the Kremlin wants to use the winter to regroup its troops and repair weapons.

Stoltenberg said the military alliance had no further information about the alleged Ukrainian drone strikes in Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the matter with his country’s Security Council on Tuesday. Ukraine denies the attacks.
