template Vectalia Enkarterri, a company that provides the Bizkaibus service, will meet this Monday in front of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, on the occasion of the strike day it will hold. The company’s workers’ assembly, made up of more than 60 people, has agreed to declare 24-hour strike days in the coming weeks, given the company’s “zero willingness to guarantee wage increases above CPI”.
The trade union ELA has reported this decision of the employees of the company, which provides the daily services more than 6000 users of municipalities in the Enkarterri region (Muskiz, Sopuerta, Galdames, Truzios, Zalla, Gueñes, Alonsotegi, Okondo, Gordexola or Artziniega) and connects to the Cruces and Basurto hospitals and to the UPV/EHU campus.
ELA has thus denounced the “proximity” of the company, which refuses to “guarantee salary improvements that will ensure the purchasing power of the staff”.
“In the same way, we must demand from the Provincial Council of Bizkaia who values the essential and public service of Bizkaibus, which does not allow these concessionaires who retain significant benefits to continue speculating with the workers and citizens who continue to need quality public transport,” he added.
Finally, ELA reminded that the employees of Ezkerraldea Meatzalde Buswill perform partial interruptions on the days December 13, 15 and 19from 06:30 to 10:30 and from 16:00 to 20:00
