In the course of the corruption scandal in the European Parliament, the Greek authorities have frozen all assets of the arrested Vice President of the European Parliament, Eva Kaili. “Bank accounts, vaults, companies and all other assets have been affected,” the head of Greece’s anti-money laundering authority, Haralambos Vourliotis, said Monday.
The measure also applies to Kaili’s relatives. The Greek politician and three other suspects were taken into custody by the Belgian authorities on Sunday. They are charged with “membership in a criminal organization, money laundering and corruption”.
