The trade union ELA has announced another week of strikes in the old people’s homes in Bizkaia, from December 17 to 23, to demand the hiring of more staff, as reported in a statement.
The trade union center claims it has to be done “urgently”. hire more staff Specifically, a doubling of the staff of the centers managed by the employers (GESCA, LARES and ELBE) to reach the level of the co-residences of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, which “have twice as many staff to provide care” .

So far this year they have already been on strike for 14 days in the old people’s homes in Bizkaia.
On December 17, ELA has organized a demonstration that will start at 5 p.m. from the Arriaga in Bilbao. On December 18, a caravan of cars is planned in front of the residences of Bizkaia, on December 19, a march starting at half past ten in Bilbao, from EiTB to the Provincial Council, on December 20 at eleven o’clock tomorrow, a local event of the BEC in Barakaldo, on December 21 a kalejira from eleven o’clock in the morning in the Casco Viejo of Bilbao, on December 22 a local event in Ibaizabal from eleven o’clock in the morning, with protest from the Bidebieta de Basauri residence and on December 23 a march from 10:30 am from the Provincial Council of Bilbao to the Arriaga Theater, where a mosaic will be made.
