You no longer need a Green Pass for the schnitzel and the disco evening. The “Krone” asked around with hosts and guests. The joy is great.
Not only does the upcoming Easter give Viennese reason to celebrate, but also the end of 2G. The clubs were again well attended on Friday evening. Nachtgastro spokesman Stefan Ratzenberger is pleased: “There were actually some young people who had not been vaccinated or recovered and who were standing in front of the clubs at midnight.”
The innkeepers are also very happy. “I’m glad 2G is going down. I was insulted by some tourists who wanted to test the restaurant,” said deputy gastro spokesman Erwin Scheiflinger.
Owner: ‘Guests no longer understood’
The “Krone” visited innkeepers and hoteliers on the opening day. “I am overjoyed about the end of 2G. The guests no longer understood and were overwhelmed by the ever-new rules,” says Barbara Prilisauer, landlady from Hütteldorf.
The guests are also happy. “This is an important step towards normalcy. It is a relief for gastronomy and business and as a guest you prefer to go to the tavern,” says Wolfgang Srb.
“Masks should continue to be worn at the buffet”
“Guests are just more relaxed,” confirms restaurateur Martin Yume. Hotelière Renate Kronberger-Huber, on the other hand, is a bit more careful: “We have many international guests who are used to different rules, so a mouth cap must be worn permanently at the buffet.”
