Two climate activists from the Austrian resistance movement “Last Generation” smeared black paint on the facade of the country house in St. Pölten around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The incident happened shortly after the start of the last session of the state parliament in St. Pölten. The alleged motive is fracking in the Weinviertel, which has not yet been banned. Presumably it is harmless ecological paint.

The police immediately stopped the protest. They were reported to the public prosecutor’s office on suspicion of destruction of property. The session of the state parliament was able to continue undisturbed.
Even paintings by famous artists in a Viennese museum used to not be safe from the activists. The climate activists of the group “Last Generation” have already announced that they are going to expand their radical protests.
