It was supposed to be a relaxing journey home for an elderly couple from Graz. In fact, the train journey from Innsbruck to Graz on Wednesday turned out to be an adventurous journey for both of them. Because the two seniors caught a thief during the trip.
Not entirely unnoticed, a 66-year-old Croat stole the wallet from the coat of a 67-year-old from Graz on the train route between Wörgl and St. Johann in Tirol. He took the money there.
Thief tried to escape
The thieves were probably a little too slow. Because the man from Graz noticed the theft and confronted the Croat. The caught thief then threw the money at the victim and tried to escape from the train as it entered the St. Johann in Tirol train station.
But the bereft Grazer didn’t let it go. He and his 68-year-old wife grabbed the fleeing thief, held him by his clothes and prevented the 66-year-old Croat from getting out.
Suspect confessed
The thief was arrested by the police on the train at Saalfelden train station. The man confessed to his crime. It is now displayed.
