On Tuesday morning, attentive neighbors noticed a hut fire in the garden of Gurk in Carinthia and alerted the fire brigade.
“A pile of wood caught fire for unknown reasons and the flames then spread to the wooden cabin,” reports fire chief OBI Ralph Nott. Neighbors noticed the fire around 4:20 a.m.
Cabin was on fire
When the fire brigades of Gurk and Strasbourg arrived on the scene, the hut was ablaze, but the hut was only partially destroyed by the rapid intervention of 30 emergency services.
The flames could also be prevented from spreading to the house. Fortunately no people were injured. The extent of the material damage is not yet known.
