Shock for a 40-year-old woman on Christmas Eve in Vienna: In the morning, her ex-husband forcibly entered the apartment by kicking the door, attacked and threatened the 40-year-old. When he then asked for money, took the woman’s bag and ran away, another confrontation ensued in the courtyard of the apartment building.
The scenes took place in the morning around 10:45 am in the Margareten district. After the 39-year-old Chinese national broke into the apartment, he allegedly assaulted his 40-year-old ex-wife with a plastic bottle and also demanded money from her, police said.
Fled with a wallet
But the 40-year-old, who suffered minor injuries in the attack, refused, after which the suspect took the woman’s handbag and ran out of the apartment. However, she did not accept that and ran after her ex-husband. In the courtyard there was a renewed and loud argument between the two.
Again, the suspect threatened his ex-wife, then threw his wallet on the floor and fled. A search for the 39-year-old man turned up nothing. “He is reported on suspicion of attempted robbery and the dangerous threat,” said police spokeswoman Barbara Gass.
