A rockfall occurred on Stefanitag in Tyrol’s Zillertal: a hiking trail was built through boulders and rubble. Fortunately no one was injured.
Shortly after 4:30 p.m., large boulders and a lot of debris suddenly thundered onto the hiking trail in Bruck am Ziller. The forest road, which leads in the direction of Spitzerköpfl, was immediately closed by the authorities. Fortunately, there were no pedestrians or hikers on the path at the time. “No one was injured,” police said.
State geologist on site
On Tuesday morning, a national geologist examined the situation on site. Nothing is known about how to proceed. The road in this area will remain closed for the time being.
