Serious skiing accident Thursday morning in Scheffau in Tyrol! A 10-year-old boy from Germany couldn’t brake in time and crashed his alpine skis into the turnstile at the entrance of the lift. The student had to be flown to hospital.
Shortly after 9 a.m., the young skier headed for the south slope lift on piste 66 (red/blue) in the Scheffau ski area in the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser. “Before entering the valley station, he could not brake in time and crashed into the turnstile,” police said.
Hospitalized with thigh injury
The 10-year-old suffered serious injuries to his upper leg and had to be taken to the hospital in Kufstein by rescue helicopter after first aid.
