The activity carried out at the Bilbao Exhibition Center (BEC) in 2022 generated a economic impact in the GDP of the Basque Autonomous Community of 135.3 million euros, according to the report of this body referring to the past year and released this Wednesday.
In 2022 they were held at the BEC a total of 232 eventswhich produced a tax collection for the Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa estates of €17.2 million and the genesis of 2664 jobs.
These events were divided into the categories of Scholarshipsin which a total of 21 competitions participated, in which 2138 exhibitors participated; conventionswith 181 events, and Bizkaia Arena, which hosted 30 events shows.
In total, they signed up 621 609 visitors and a space occupation of 297 days.
The report also states that 74% of the expenses generated flowed back to outside activities to stock market activity itself, such as the hotel industry, which absorbed 48%; transportation, with 16%; recreational and cultural activities, at 8% and retail, at 2%.
