Five arrests – After Halloween riots, all perpetrators have been caught

Date:

After three more alleged main perpetrators of the Halloween riots in Linz were arrested, the police are confident that all the guilty have been convicted. Five suspects have been arrested.

State Police Chief Andreas Pilsl is sure: “With these five arrests, the investigations into the riots on Halloween night have come to a positive end. As far as we are concerned, the Linz police and the prosecutor’s office have done a perfect job. However, we will continue to take full action against such crimes and suspects,” Pilsl said when asked by “Krone”.

Three teens arrested
It had previously been revealed that after extensive investigations by the investigative group set up at the Linz City Police Command, a 16-year-old unemployed Iraqi entitled to subsidiary protection, his girlfriend – a 15-year-old schoolgirl from Thailand – and a 15-year-old Afghan were accused of active and leading participation in the violent riots on Halloween night in the center of Linz.

The three teenagers are said to have bought illegal fireworks in the Czech Republic and had them set off on Halloween night. They allegedly fired them at the police officers and also passed them on to other rioters. The teens became partially known.
