As reported, Roland K. from Natternbach suddenly disappeared on December 9 after a local tour with friends in Linz. He was last seen in restaurant “Rox” on Linzer Graben. Weeks of searching – including by divers in the Danube in the area of the Nibelungen Bridge in Urfahr – unfortunately yielded nothing.

However, late on Wednesday afternoon, a Linz cyclist suddenly saw a body floating in the Danube in the municipality of Steyregg shortly before 4 p.m. The 52-year-old immediately alerted the officers of the local police station. After they had convinced themselves of the correctness of the information, the Linz professional fire brigade was alerted.

The emergency services finally managed to recover the body around 4:30 p.m. The clothing immediately suggested that the dead man was the missing father. Before he disappeared, he was wearing a light blue polo shirt. The forensic autopsy on the case is still pending. For the police, however, it is very likely that it concerns Roland K.. The family has now been informed. The 42-year-old leaves behind a wife and two children.
