Kebabfahrt murder – 24-year-old stabbed: Suspect arrested

Date:

After a 24-year-old in Vienna-Margareten was stabbed to death by an initially unknown person after an argument, he has now been arrested. The victim was stabbed twice in front of a kebab stand earlier this year.

After intensive investigation, police were able to track down a 27-year-old who had stabbed the 24-year-old on January 3. As reported, there is said to have been an argument between the two men in the street. As the argument escalated, the 27-year-old attacked the 24-year-old with a knife. The man died on the spot from stab wounds.

During the investigation, surveillance cameras and radio cells were evaluated, traces were secured and compared and numerous witnesses were heard. Ultimately, the suspected 27-year-old and his whereabouts were investigated by the police.

Denies act
The suspect was provisionally arrested in Vienna-Margareten on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. by troops from WEGA and the criminal investigation department. The suspect has so far denied the crime.

Already three murders in Vienna
In 2023, three murders have been registered in Vienna so far, with a 50-year-old Polish citizen already arrested as a suspect in two cases. “I would like to thank the citizens for their valuable information and the Vienna police detectives who have done an excellent job,” said Vienna police chief Gerhard Pürstl.
