They really do look a lot alike: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz met Delaware Senator Chris Coons in Washington, who seemed to be a spitting image of him. The two politicians experienced the meeting with humor.
During a short visit to the US, the German politician met Coons on Thursday during a dinner with members of the US Congress. A souvenir photo was a must – because the American almost looks like the twin brother of the SPD politician.
The US Senator asks on X: “Who is who?”
“Great to see my double again,” Scholz responded to a photo of the men taking a selfie. Coons also posted a photo with Scholz. “Who is who?” he asked his followers on the X platform in German.
It’s actually hard to tell the two apart: they both have similar hairstyles, their clothing style and smile lines are also similar. It is not the first time that the two have met: the similarity was already noticeable last year at the World Economic Forum in Davos. A photo was also taken then.
The reason for Scholz’s visit was to request more military aid for Ukraine. A meeting with US President Joe Biden was planned at the White House on Friday afternoon.
