Vienna thieves tour – gang captured three bikes in just one night

Date:

After a night-time thieves’ raid through Vienna, a gang and the three stolen bicycles were caught by the police on their way to Belarus in Poland.

The gang from Belarus is said to have made criminal tracks throughout Europe – in mid-January, the suspected professional thieves also made a stop in Austria’s capital. In the yellow van, the trio rolled through Vienna under the cover of darkness – looking for the next loot. And the criminals found what they were looking for.

Thrown into garage and parking lot
First in Simmering, where they “helped themselves” in a garage and loaded two bicycles into their cargo area. The third criminal prank immediately followed – this time on the other side of town, in a parking lot in Floridsdorf. Here, too, the men were chasing a parked motorcycle.

Motorcycles should land in Belarus
With the machines worth 50,000 euros (two BMWs, one Ducati) in the car, the Belarusians took off. Across the border towards home. But what the thieves apparently had overlooked: one of the two-wheelers was equipped with GPS. And so the detectives of the criminal investigation department of the western department managed to locate it in Poland.

The foreign colleagues were immediately informed, who then stopped the vehicle at Rybnik, just before the border with Belarus, and handcuffed the three suspects. The alleged serial offenders are now awaiting extradition to Austria.
