Workers made an explosive discovery while evacuating an apartment in Vienna-Margareten. They discovered three tank shells in the building – and alerted the police.
The men made the find around 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning. They had actually been called to Schönbrunner Strasse due to an eviction and were supposed to clear the apartment of a 48-year-old who was already living at a new address.
Grenades secured and demining service handed over
During the evacuation, the workers encountered three tank grenades with explosives of Russian design, the Viennese police reported. The grenades were secured by the decommissioning service and then handed over to the army’s demining service.
