Avalanche warning level 4 in Tyrol
There is a great avalanche danger in Tyrol these days. The experts of the avalanche warning service issued level four of the five-part scale for large parts of the country on Saturday. “The conditions off the slopes are very difficult. The current avalanche situation requires great restraint!”

Individual athletes can cause avalanches
Medium and large avalanches are to be expected – also spontaneous. The situation is especially precarious above the tree line. Fresh snow and snowdrifts can be very easily activated in all lighting conditions, even by individual winter sports enthusiasts. The danger spots are widespread and barely recognizable even to experienced users. Be careful also in the area of the tree line and below the tree line,” the experts emphasize.

Only Friday afternoon in the Ötztal valley, a 32-year-old Chinese was swept away 100 meters by a slab of snow and buried. The man died.
