A 32-year-old suspect was arrested on Wednesday evening in front of a bar in Vienna-Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus on suspicion of violating sexual self-determination. The crime was reported by a woman at the end of January and a bouncer now recognized the alleged perpetrator and therefore called the police.
The man did not confess during interrogation and stated that intercourse was voluntary, but this contradicts the woman’s statement. As police spokesman Philipp Haßlinger explained to APA, the suspect and the young woman met at a bar near Mariahilfer Gurtel in late January. The two later left the restaurant, only after that did the reported actions take place.
The 32-year-old was taken to prison on the orders of the Vienna public prosecutor. The criminal investigation department of the state police in the western division of Vienna continues to investigate the case.
